The Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) announces the return of its annual Skyliners Ski Swap, happening on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 8am to 5pm at the Pavilion (Ice Rink) in Bend.
Widely recognized as the premier winter gear swap in the Northwest, the event features both local consignors and regional retailers, offering an unmatched selection of new and used skis, snowboards, boots, apparel and winter accessories.
Local consignors from the general public are encouraged to sort through their winter gear and clothing and consider registering their no-longer-used items online prior to the deadline on Monday, October 6. Local consignors may then prepare their items for the sale, with the help of volunteers, at one of MBSEF’s drop-off sessions on Thursday, October 9 or Friday, October 10. Interested consignors may read all about the consignment process at mbsefskiswap.com.
Alongside the sale inside the Pavilion, MBSEF is expanding its Winter Expo outside the rink. This year’s expo will showcase local favorites such as Mt. Bachelor and Crux Fermentation Project, plus a variety of food options from Mountain Burger and Morsel Maven, along with other Central Oregon businesses and organizations.
New this year, the Winter Expo will also feature live music on Saturday after 1pm. Two local bands will take the stage: Awkward Silence, a youth ensemble, including MBSEF athletes, will open for Almost, one of Bend’s most beloved cover bands.
“For decades, the Skyliners Ski Swap has been Central Oregon’s go-to destination for winter gear,” said Marieka Greene, MBSEF’s events and financial development director. “Just as importantly, it brings our snowsports community together year after year, creating a true celebration of the season ahead.”
The celebration begins on the night of Friday, October 10 with the exclusive Pre-Sale & Party. This special evening offers the first opportunity to shop the Ski Swap, with the first pick of gear before the swap opens to the general public, while also enjoying the Winter Expo atmosphere with firepits, food and a ski film under the stars. The Crux Fermentation Project will provide a complimentary beverage for the first 300 attendees. A limited number of tickets are available to the general public at mbsefskiswap.com.
The Skyliners Ski Swap is MBSEF’s largest annual fundraiser, with proceeds directly supporting local youth athletes in Alpine, Nordic, Freestyle and Cycling programs. The event is made possible by the tremendous support of community volunteers, who can sign up online. As thanks for their time, MBSEF offers each volunteer free access to the Friday Night Pre-Sale & Party.
MBSEF extends a heartfelt thank-you to its Presenting Sponsor: Latitude 44, and to its Supporting Sponsors: The Source Weekly, 101.7, Peak Euro, Crux Fermentation Project and JB Technologies, whose generous support makes this community event possible.
